太湖石原產於蘇州洞庭山太湖水中，為經典觀賞石。明代文震亨在《長物志》中寫道：「太湖石在水中者為貴，歲久被波濤衝擊，皆成空石，面面玲瓏。」因其透出的無窮意蕴和境界為古人傾倒，故深受古代帝王和文人雅士之愛。
英石橫峰，色澤深沈，峰如菡，玲瓏峭麗，天成自然。陳供以對，納精吸華，通海連天，這心快意，俯仰其間油然而起。此石氣勢雄渾，似曾雲疊嶂，慎密堅硬，典雅大氣，石表歷盡滄桑。予人渾穆古樸、凝重深沉之感。廳堂擺放佳品。
