此件皮球花粉彩盖碗由景德镇手工瓷绘技艺清代官窑粉彩非遗传人徐志军绘制。
皮球花起源于团花，是抽象和具象结合的瓷器纹饰，它并不指某一种特定的花卉，而是用很多形状的花卉其变形的装饰方法。把各种花卉纹样，统一变成圆形、六菱形的样子，像一个一个色彩缤纷的小皮球。有的聚在一处，有的天各一方。满绘不规则团花，看似紊乱但却保留着中国传统的对称格局。
皮球花纹饰流行于清代雍正和乾隆时期，以鲜艳多彩的斗彩而被广大瓷器收藏者喜欢，清代的粉彩和斗彩瓷器颜色多种多样，让皮球花纹饰发扬广大。
