Xiaomeiyao Zhuni Clay Rongtian Teapot
Xiaomeiyao Zhuni Clay Rongtian Teapot
Vessel type: Rongtian Pot
Material: Xiaomeiyao Zhuni Clay
Specifications: Length: 12cm; Width: 8.6cm; Height: 7.5cm; Inner diameter: 4.7cm
Volume: 180ml
The Rongtian Teapot derives its name from the idiom "A capacious belly can contain all affairs under heaven". A masterful fusion of the Mengchen, Duozi and Xishi teapot shapes, it was originally created by Lü Yaochen, a master of arts and crafts.
This Rongtian Teapot boasts a rich reddish-brown hue, with a fine, delicate texture and a restrained luster. Its body is as plump and full as the belly of a Buddha; the lines gently stretch upward from the bottom, exuding a quiet strength despite the absence of sharp edges—much like the carefree bearing of Maitreya Buddha with his bare chest and protruding belly. The short neck enhances its sturdy and solid appearance. The lid is designed in a hemispherical dome shape, fitting perfectly with the male-female joint of the pot mouth, and the connecting line is smooth and seamless. The knob is a small, round bead, resembling the Dharma pearl atop a Buddha’s head, echoing the harmonious roundness of the pot body. The short straight spout stands firm and slightly upturned, with lines as crisp and sharp as the tip of a writing brush. The handle is a curved ring with a full, relaxed arc, balancing the spout and subtly embodying the quality of "tolerance". Without any redundant decorations, the entire teapot conveys the simplicity and grandeur of "a capacious belly that contains all" through its round, stable and smooth lines.
