Shape: Pear-shaped teapot
Author: Dayatang / Qin Xun, Master of Zhuni Clay Craft
Material: Zhaozhuang Aged Zhuni Clay
Volume: 200ml
This small teapot has a rounded body, a slightly broad base, and a gently constricted neck. Its lid is shaped like the top of a pear. The spout is slender, graceful, and triple-curved, with a well-proportioned thickness from top to bottom. It is commonly known as the "Beauty’s Leg" for its elegant silhouette, a hallmark of the distinctive aesthetic taste of the Qing Dynasty.
A Zhaozhuang Zhuni Clay teapot will exude an increasingly profound, antique charm over time with regular use. When hot water is poured over the pot, it instantly reveals a delicate, bright red hue, and a subtle purple luster will fleetingly glimmer across its surface. The teapot boasts a rich, muted vermilion color with a calm, dense texture that is not slippery, adorned with beautiful flowing grain patterns. With a shrinkage rate of around 28–30% during firing, it develops a unique, slightly wrinkled surface texture, much like delicate skin. Occasional black specks formed by iron impurities are also visible, adding to its weathered, time-honored appeal.
