Qin Xun's Zhaozhuang Aged Zhuni Clay Junde teapot
Vessel Name: Junde teapot
Author: Qin Xun, Master of Zhuni Clay Craft
Material: Zhaozhuang Aged Zhuni Clay
Specifications: Length 12.5cm; Width 9cm; Height 7cm; Inner diameter: 5cm
Volume: 200ml
The " Junde " teapot is named after the potter Zhang Junde.
This Junde teapot is pear-shaped with a bulging belly, a three-bend spout pointing upwards, a ring handle, and a truncated lid with a round bead knob. It is made from old Zhaozhuang Zhu Ni clay, resulting in a subtle, vibrant vermilion color that is rich yet not gaudy. The clay is dense yet not slippery, with naturally distributed folds on the body, creating beautiful flowing water patterns. When hot water is poured over the finished teapot, it immediately displays its delicate, bright red color, and a fleeting purple sheen appears on the surface. When struck, it produces a clear, metallic sound with a high-pitched, short tone.
The teapot's body is rounded and full, with lines that gently flow upwards from the base, transitioning smoothly from shoulder to neck, resembling the magnanimous posture of a humble gentleman. The lid is slightly convex, its rim fitting perfectly with the spout, the gold rim gleaming, and paired with a small, round beaded knob, all harmoniously integrated with the overall proportions. The three-bend spout curves gracefully, flowing seamlessly with the teapot's overall aesthetic. The handle is a circular ring, its curve fitting comfortably in the palm. The simple, unadorned form is understated, its lines minimalist and restrained.
