Zambian rosewood ruyi cloud pattern panel table

This double-ruyi-head apron table is a classic heirloom, crafted from Zambian rosewood, a material known for its high oil content and beautiful sesame-like grain.

This table is crafted from Zambian rosewood, its color deep and rich, its grain beautiful. The tabletop features a panel inlaid with a lattice-framed border, the edge tapering from top to bottom. The mortise and tenon joint structure, with carved ruyi-shaped handles on the aprons, boasts strong lines and smooth, flowing moldings along the edges, adding to the table's overall elegance. The four legs are octagonal, ensuring a stable structure. The square legs are carved into melon-ribbed shapes, a distinctive feature of this piece, while double horizontal stretchers on either side create a harmonious and unified form. The overall design is rich in detail, conveying a sense of dynamism within its simplicity.
